Linux/Windows Network Support Technician

The Uptime Group, Inc. is looking for a network support technician who has experience with desktop support through network maintenance to work with our small- to medium-sized business clients. You will install and maintain Microsoft- and Linux-based computer networks and VoIP phone systems. Work is generally performed 40 percent at client sites and 60 percent remotely from our office.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum three years of information technology experience (tech support, help desk, systems administration, network administration)
- Deep Linux experience on the job with command line work
- Deep understanding of the Windows XP Pro, and Vista OS and Microsoft Office package. This includes the ability to install, configure and support the operating system
- Experience with all types of PC hardware including desktops, laptops, scanners, printers and many other commonly used peripheral devices
- Success using a trouble ticket system to open, track and document in detail all issues reported or worked on
- Intermediate networking skills including LAN switching, TCP/IP, DNS, WINS, ARP, DHCP, wireless (WAP, SSID, WEP) and experience configuring firewalls
- Good driving record and reliable transportation (mileage expenses are reimbursed)
- Pass a criminal background check and drug test

Our team is compensated with a base salary plus individual and group monthly bonuses dependent on performance. The base salary for this position is $50,000-65,000. Self-motivated individuals do extremely well on our compensation plan.
