SENIOR WINDOWS/LINUX TECHNOLOGY CONSULTANT

The Uptime Group, Inc. is looking
for a senior consultant with at least five years of hard-core
network design through desktop support experience to work with
our small- to medium-sized business clients. You can be the master
of the technical universe for multiple small companies in the
Denver/Boulder metro area with 10 to 60 employees. You will design,
install and maintain Microsoft- and Linux-based computer networks
and VoIP phone systems for our clients. Work is generally performed
60 percent on site and 40 percent remotely.
Qualifications:
Minimum five years of information technology experience (tech
support, help desk, systems administration, network administration,
etc.)
Familiarity with administering Windows 2003 Active Directory
and related services including MS Exchange
Linux experience on the job (not your basement) with command
line work (not GUI experience)
Deep understanding of the Windows XP Pro OS and Microsoft
Office package. This includes the ability to install, configure
and support the operating system
Experience with all types of PC hardware including desktops,
laptops, scanners, printers and many other commonly used peripheral
devices
Success using a trouble ticket system to open, track and document
in detail all issues reported or worked
Basic networking skills including LAN switching, TCP/IP, DNS,
WINS, DHCP, wireless (WAP, SSID, WEP) and experience configuring
firewalls
Ability to write technical documentation for new services
or products
Familiarity with backup technologies (e.g., Veritas, Retrospect,
etc.)
Familiarity with antivirus solutions (e.g., Symantec, AVG, Norton,
etc.)
Familiarity with antispam solutions
Plusses include:
Knowledge of Microsoft Vista, Office 2007 and Echange 2007

VOIP - Sharepoint (WSS or Portal)
Sharepoint (WSS or Portal)
Microsoft CRM
Apache/Tomcat
Sendmail, Postfix, Qmail, Scalix and/or OpenXchange
Cisco CLI for switching and routing hardware
Scripting and/or programming languages (e.g., VBS, Shell Scripting,
Python, Perl, C, C+, C#, VB.Net, PHP)
